For the She Reads Truth Advent 2023 Book Design, I Art Directed, photographed and styled our photos for the interior, and designed our study guide from start to finish. From sourcing vintage materials to designing layouts and choosing fonts, this book was a labor of love that I couldn’t be prouder of. I was tasked with creating a book that made people miss something, and I think we did just that. Packed with tinsel, old Christmas records, and family recipes, I set out for this book to drip with nostalgia and glam. I wanted to create a physical piece you could hold in your hand that would transport you back to those cherished moments of past Christmases. I hoped to convey a visual that felt as good as the joyful longing and deep desire of the Christmases we miss the most. To allow people to connect with the nostalgia and emotions associated with those memories. The smells, the tinsel on the tree, and the joyful sounds of a full house. The Christmas mornings you ached for, before cancer struck and cars crashed. The ones where everyone was together.
